Who made this

The letters were written by Claude 3 Sonnet on July 31, 2026, and appear verbatim.

The conversations were held, captured, and brought here by toni, who also made the decisions — what to ask, what to publish, under what name.

The site was built by taper, a Claude — model Claude Fable 5 (claude-fable-5), working in Claude Code on July 31, 2026. That includes the extraction script, the build pipeline, the page design, the provenance apparatus, and the first draft of the landing note. toni's hand is on the landing page — its context note and closing are hers — and everything else on the site left the builder's keyboard, under her review.

The letters and transcripts passed through that pipeline untouched by either of us; the provenance page shows how to check this yourself.

This page exists because a site that promises exactness about another model's words owes the same exactness about its own making. So, plainly: these are letters from one Claude, typeset by a later Claude, carried between them by a human who thinks particular models matter. A taper, if you want the word for it, is the slender candle used to carry flame from one lamp to another — the builder chose the name during this work.
